According to the Toronto Sun “ The Sikh community is gearing up to celebrate Khalsa Day this Sunday at Nathan Phillips Square.

“Ontarians from all walks of life will come together this Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the 44th annual Khalsa Day as the Sikh community celebrates the 323rd Revelation Day of The Khalsa. All Torontonians are invited, welcome, and encouraged to participate in the celebration,” Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwara Council said in a release.
The event will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and joining the celebration will be Mayor John Tory, Chief of Police James Ramer, MP Kamal Khera, and Leader of the Opposition MP Candice Bergen.
Khalsa celebrates the Sikh New Year and this is Toronto’s 44th celebration
The Khalsa Day celebration has grown from 2,000 people since its 1978 and has become one of the city’s largest events.
“A delight for the senses, attendees can enjoy delicious food which is absolutely free, Traditional Sikh prayers played on traditional instruments, and people in traditional saffron-coloured clothing,” the release said.
