The celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak birthday will continue till November 30th. The video circulating on social media shows Sikh pilgrimage dancing to the beats of the drums at the vicinity of their hotel in Nankana Sahib. Social media users in Pakistan conveyed heartfelt greetings as well, to the arriving pilgrims from across the border celebrating brotherhood and religious tolerance. In return, the Sikh followers have been exuberantly circulating the video of celebrations and dance on social media. They expressed gratitude and love for the Government of Pakistan for a warm welcome.
As per the reports, the main ceremony on November 23rd in Nankana Sahib is followed by a visit to Hasan Abdal, on November 24th (today). The Sikh Pilgrims will reach to Lahore on November 26th and Rohri on November 28th with a departure scheduled on November 30th. The Foreign Office spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal welcomed the Sikh pilgrimage at Lahore and later on issued an official statement from his Twitter account.
He said “Pakistan is a “progressive, moderate Islamic state [where] we proudly follow the Islamic principles, which taught respect for all religions way before the human rights charter came into existence”.

India has also agreed to Pakistan’s proposal to open the Kartarpur border to ease the journey of Sikh Pilgrims each year.
