SGPC chief inaugurates new IT wing in Amritsar to promote Sikhism

According to Hindustan Times “The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has launched its Information Technology (IT) wing to help it in spreading Sikhism through social media. SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar inaugurated the wing. This will be a part of the internet department of the apex gurudwara body. 

“Adopting modern electronic mediums to promote Sikhism is the need of the hour as these have become all-pervasive. We will use the media to interact more with the sangat and ensure we are responsive to needs of the society,” he said.

He added that the SGPC will also promote its achievements and activities through new information technology mediums in the wing. A sub-committee comprising general secretary Amarjit Singh Chawla, executive member Gurcharan Singh Grewal, secretary Roop Singh, professor Sukhjit Singh, Manpreet Singh and Kanwalvir Singh Dhindsa has been set up to supervise the working of the wing.”
