Sikh body treats patients free of cost on Prakash Parv in Bihar
According to Tribune India "A septuagenarian, Gurdyal Singh, who suddenly felt a sharp pain in the heart, rushed to the free medical camp near Bal Leela Gurdwara here rather than going to any other clinic or hospital as all roads were thronged by Sikh devotees taking out a nagar kirtan on Prakash Parv.
After Singh was administered injections, he attained normalcy after half-an-hour and attendants got a sigh of relief.
“I am speechless on how to thank these doctors, who treated me free of cost and saved my life. We should have served them as they were our guest on Prakash Parv,” he said.
Patiala-based Nishkam Medical Care Society had set up a free medical camp on Prakash Parv near Bal Leela Gurdwara here. It had 20 specialised doctors while a staff of 60 served the devotees.
They attended to around 7, 100 devotees, including locals, and distributed medicines worth Rs 4 lakh in a four-day free medical camp.
The chairperson of the society MR Singh Mehta said: “We were delighted to serve patients who congregated here breaking all religion, caste and creed barriers. It appeared that we were serving humanity as Guru Gobind Singh Ji taught us. We had all top specialist doctors from north India who were with us to give their service free”.
Mohammad Ali, whose son suffered an Asthama attack, rushed to the camp. “Sikh doctors treated my son and cured him otherwise we had lost all hope as we could not rush to any other doctor due to the rush,” he said.
