The project, set to cost more than $1 million, has taken a giant step towards its finishing stages with lock-up now complete.
"Basically we just need to sort out the internal fit-out," builder Andrew Hundal said.
"It's 600sq m on the top level and 700 on the bottom so it's pretty big - basically it's the size of three, four-bedroom houses - definitely the biggest building I've worked on."
Indian artisans Jagtar Singh and Charn Singh have been on site working on concrete archways and domes and will now return to India for six months before returning with the larger fibreglass domes set to be placed at the top of the temple.
Mr Hundal, a member of the Sikh community, said he chose to take on the job to honour his late mother.
"It's a place of worship and significant to my religion so I'm proud to be a part of it," Mr Hundal said.
"But what really made me want to take the job was the passing of my mother; when she died I wanted to build the temple and dedicate the work to her."
The temple is set down for completion by Easter 2015."
