DSGMC to organise free career guidance fair in June

According to Business Standard "The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSMGC) will organise a three-day-long free career guidance fair from June 6 to 8 at the Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall in the Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib here. The event will seek to provide high quality guidance and counselling programme said S. Manjit Singh G.K here today.This fair will be organised between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for students of the 9th, 10th and 12th standards. They will be given guidance on skill-oriented courses and vocational studies. The targetted category will be mediocre students who are unable to get admission into prestigious engineering, medical and I T institutes, or unable to pay the high fees asked for by prestigious private education institutes.The Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Human Resources Development etc., will set up their exhibition stalls to guide students on how to get admissions to education institutes affiliated with them.Each student or applicant will be assessed according to their aptitude, interest and capability. The parents and students, particularly those belonging to the minority communities, will also be educated about soft loan opportunities available to them from various central government institutions and other organizations on lower interests rates for various academic courses.Around 20,000 students and parents are likely to attend the fair to seek counseling for improved courses selection from renowned education experts.

This is the second such fair being organized by DSGMC. The Career Guidance Fair held last year was attended by around 8000 students, said S. Manjit Singh G.K., President. DSGMC

About 30 prestigious education institutes from National Capital Region like Delhi Uuniversity, Guru Gobind Singh Indrapratha University, Mysore University,Mewar University, Eternal University, Amity University, Ansals University, Goenka University will participate in the fair.

The career counseling camp will be attended by experienced teachers, educationists and intellectuals.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has been doing philanthropic work of providing quality education to the students of Delhi at large.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) was set up by an Act of Parliament for managing Sikh Gurdwaras  and promoting education for Sikh minority students in Delhi.

Presently, approximately 50,000 students are enrolled in CBSE-affiliated chain of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools, four colleges affiliated to Delhi University and other institutions of higher education, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Inderprastha University.
